My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: Dallas, TX
DOB: 12/11/2021

Meet Hawthorne and Heather, a bonded pair of 2-year-old Great Danes who were found as strays on the street. These two gentle giants are looking for their forever home together, and they promise to bring double the love and joy to their new family.

Hawthorne is a gentle giant who loves to cuddle and bury his face in your neck. His affectionate nature will melt your heart, and his calm demeanor makes him the perfect snuggle buddy. Heather, on the other hand, is playful and loves to follow you around, laying at your feet and keeping you company. Her playful spirit and affectionate personality make her a delightful companion.

Both Hawthorne and Heather are house-trained and basic obedience trained. They respond to common phrases like "y'all go lay down," "go to your room," and "let's go outside." These two are very good at staying home alone and are non-destructive, making them ideal housemates. They are also good with other dogs, including smaller puppies, and their gentle nature ensures they get along well with everyone.

Hawthorne and Heather are inseparable and would thrive in a loving home where they can stay together. If you're looking for a pair of loyal, loving, and well-behaved Great Danes to join your family, Hawthorne and Heather are ready to bring joy and companionship into your life. Consider welcoming this bonded pair into your home, and you'll gain two loyal friends who will fill your days with love and happiness.

All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted. Thank you for considering adopting a rescue dog, you're saving a life when you adopt. We adopt nationwide and have transport options available!

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
