My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Doona is still searching for her forever home! She is a five month old Mixed breed girl, and the last of her litter to be adopted.

At first, she might play a little shy, but whip out a treat, and she’s all yours! Before you know it, she’ll be soaking up the pets and might even nudge you for cuddles first. Her playful side is blossoming more every day!

When it comes to other dogs, Doona likes to make the first move. If they approach her first, she might tuck her tail and play it cool (size doesn’t matter here!). But in her own space, she’s quick to make friends. She’s not the jealous type, loves group play, and balances her independence with a knack for bonding fast. Even if her doggy pals aren’t feeling it, she’s totally unbothered.

Cats? She’s never met one, and honestly, she doesn’t seem to care. Birds, though? Those fluttery little creatures catch her eye, and she might just try to chase them!

Doona’s energy level is just right—not too much, not too little. She’s all in for outdoor adventures but knows how to kick back and relax afterward. She pulls on the leash a bit but is generally a good listener when walking.

She’s a quiet girl who rarely barks, is potty-trained for both indoor pads and outdoor breaks, and still gets a little carsick but hey, she’s still a puppy.

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
