My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sage Cowan is clearly a shepherd mix but based on her ice blue eyes and energy, we are guessing mixed with husky. Sage is constantly smelling or moving, exploring or swimming. Yes! She loves water and finds all ponds, puddles and ditches near her foster home.

Sage is attentive to people, does well on leash and does listen for commands. During her off-leash yard play - she runs and enjoys playing 'keep away' from humans. She is athletic and healthy.

Vaccinated, Spayed, Microchipped, treated for heartworms and on prevention - she is ready to travel.
Sage would benefit from an active home or large yard/farm/ranch for daily exercise.

She was found injured (glass cuts on her paw) after a bad storm in Houston. She was soaking wet and wandered into a gun shop looking for people. She was microchipped but the owners stated they did not want her anymore. We had her seen at our vet for injures. She would also need to be treated for heartworms, though just two years old - obviously not kept on preventatives. Sage spent a few weeks in boarding due to the storm damage in our area and lack of foster homes. She did well with the routine at boarding, bouncing around her kennel until it was her turn for a walk and yard time.

FOSTERED IN TEXAS.

More about this rescue

Mission Statement: Volunteers Fueled by Caffeine and Compassion to help Care for Dogs in Today's Pet Crisis in Texas.

Our dogs come from at-risk shelters in TEXAS -focused on Fort Bend Co/Brazoria Co/Galveston Co/Harris Co., partnerships to help dogs in rural areas in South Texas and urgent Owner Surrenders due to loss or tragedy.

We are a small rescue and every things counts - every penny and each donation is a blessing. Most of the dogs require neuter, heartworm treatment and medications for various illness/injury before being cleared for adoption. Our dogs receive quality care in food, toys and hygiene while they recover and wait for forever homes.
