Goob is a fluffy and sweet kitten who thrives on human attention and loves being petted, especially under his cheeks, which makes him purr contentedly. Playful and independent, he entertains himself by chasing mice toys and little balls but is also happy to cuddle and be close to his person. Goob is friendly and outgoing, not shy at all, and enjoys accompanying people wherever they go, curiously watching their activities. He has an adorable habit of silently meowing when he sees you looking at him. If he needs space, he’ll gently paw at you to let you know. Gentle, affectionate, and active, Goob is the perfect balance of playful independence and loving companionship.

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
