Special needs- arriving Jan. 5.
Meet Yoshi, the little dog with an extraordinary story of resilience. Found in Mexico, Yoshi was in rough shape—his tiny body was broken and battered, with a twisted pelvis and a compressed spine and a neurological head wobble. He couldn’t even look up, a little panda in a lot of pain. But despite his challenging start, Yoshi’s journey of recovery has been nothing short of inspiring.
With time, patience, and the care of his foster mom, Yoshi began his healing process. Physical therapy and good nutrition helped him regain strength, and though he’ll never run a marathon, his spirit is stronger than ever. Now, Yoshi is ready for a home where he can shine. He may not have sight, but he has a heart full of love, and his ability to look up—metaphorically and literally—is a testament to how far he’s come.
At just under 10 pounds, Yoshi is a bit of a teddy bear—tattered but full of love, always ready to snuggle under blankets or offer gentle, sweet kisses. He’s independent and doesn’t require special care beyond a little help getting on higher surfaces. He’s great with other dogs and has a soft spot for his feline companions (he’s lived with 6!). Yoshi loves spending time on the patio, barking at dogs passing by, but indoors he’s a quiet, calm companion. Though he still has some wobbles in his walk, he’s mobile and adapts well to new environments.
At around 3 years old, Yoshi has come a long way from his broken beginnings. His head bobbing is nearly gone, and he may even be able to see some shadows with his right eye. Yoshi might not be "perfect" by typical standards, but like the rest of us, he’s wonderfully imperfect, and he makes up for it with endless affection. He’s not just a dog—he’s a little survivor, a companion who’ll fill your heart with love, no matter what challenges life may throw his way.
Taking care of him takes me less time and effort as with many of the completely healthy dogs we have. He always, ALWAYS waits until let out to potty. He does not need help to do so.
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving little friend who’s overcome more than most could imagine, Yoshi is waiting to meet you. Due to his fragility, we are looking for a quiet home with no kids or big dogs who will potentially hurt him.
He will still need massages to keep his muscles loose in his neck.
Adoption fee is $300 plus tax.

More about this rescue
Camp Companion is a 501c3 organization established in 2003.
Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.
Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.
Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
