My name is CharlesBarkley *Arriving 1/11*!

CharlesBarkley is a 4.5-year-old Yorkie/Cairn Terrier mix with a quirky personality and a lot of love to give. He’s leash trained, enjoys car rides, and is a devoted lap dog who loves to walk—it’s his happy place!

CharlesBarkley has a few unique traits that make him special. He’s affectionate and intelligent but can be unpredictable at times, so he’d do best in a home without small children. His former owner may have played rough with him before walks, so he sometimes play-nips before being leashed. He also has a touch of food aggression but doesn’t bother other dogs’ food.

This little guy doesn’t jump, so his name adds a bit of humor to his personality. He loves to snuggle up in a chair next to you with a bit of help getting up and enjoys resting his head on your foot during the day. At night, he prefers not to go outside but can hold it until morning.

CharlesBarkley isn’t a fan of crates, but he’s not destructive when left out and occasionally naps in other dogs’ crates during the day. While he might skip a meal here and there, his love for his people is consistent. He’s already potty trained and just needs slow introductions to new people while on a leash.

CharlesBarkley is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 1/11/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.  Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
