My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rico is a playful, goofy boy who loves everyone he meets!  Found abandoned in a dog park and never claimed, he is a sweet boy who despite his size, knows he is the perfect lap dog, and gives the best cuddles.  He walks on leash, crates, sits for treats and wants to please his people. He likes to go places and does great in the car.

He is still young and can get up to shenanigans.  Experience with a breed whose head is as high as your counters is a plus with this boy, as he is definitely willing to taste test anything you have hanging out on the counter :)  His forever home will need to be willing to invest in some time and guidance to help him learn the rules of the house. He has learned some better manners in foster care, but he will need some ongoing consistency to completely lose his less than ideal habits. He will also need daily walks or some form of exercise to help with his youthful energy. He is a medium energy dog, who may mature into a lower energy dog.

We think that he is an Irish Wolfhound Doodle or Great Dane Doodle, but all we can say for sure is that he is a doodle cross of something large.  Rico is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his shots.

More about this rescue

We have been a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit in Buckeye, Arizona since 2014. We are completely dependent upon local volunteers and rescue organizations to foster animals in need. We hold numerous events throughout the year to generate donations to help local animals and individuals in need.

One of our proudest achievements is partnering with Chewy.com since 2018 to redistribute pet food deemed unacceptable for resale to animal rescues and charities in need. To date we've provided hundreds of thousands, if not millions of pounds of pet food.
