Kazuki is one of FOUR lovely American Akitas that came in to us over the past month. She is a lively, energetic, very friendly and happy girl. Kazuki will need to go to an experienced adopter who knows how to train dogs with confidence by way of positive reinforcement. This dog, although very friendly, has no manners and is not housebroken. She seems to like other dogs and can live with another well matched dog with proper introductions. Due to her exuberance and lack of training, she is not suitable for young children. Older teenagers could be okay for her.

At City of Vancouver Animal Services, we have a foster-to-adopt program whereby prospective new owners foster the adoptable animal for 21 days before committing to adoption. This ensures that both the new owner and the adoptable animal are well suited to each other.

Donation

We gratefully accept monetary donations, as well as donations of supplies for dogs and small animals. Monetary donations are used to help pay for veterinary care and supplies, particularly for stray animals that have extraordinary medical issues that must be treated before they are ready to be adopted. Tax receipts are issued for donations of $20 or more. How to make a monetary donation: -Cheques payable to “City of Vancouver” can be mailed to: Animal Shelter, 1280 Raymur Avenue, Vancouver V6A 3L8 -Call 311 and ask to be transferred to Animal Services to pay by credit card -Email your name and phone number to animal.services@vancouver.ca We will phone you to request your credit card details. If you let us know a convenient time to call, we’ll do our best to call you then. -Visit Animal Services at 1280 Raymur Avenue We accept cash, cheque, debit or credit card
