Buttercream (we call her Butters) is an eleven-pound terrier mix under two years old. She was a stray, living under a mobile home in a south Dallas suburb when rescued by EARS. She is now with a volunteer foster family who has found her to be a very sweet, lovable girl who likes to calmly sit in our laps and enjoy our attention. She’s learning to walk on a leash and does extremely well when left in a crate. She is recovering from being spayed and will be available for adoption soon. She is quiet and reserved but will likely be playful when she has recovered from surgery. She should be good with children over 5, but not certain how she will behave around other pets. She has been cooperative with doing her business when taken to the grass and has not had accidents in the house.
We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention.
All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Also, EARS has Meet and Greet Days at various local venues in the Dallas area. We will post the dates and times of the Meet and Greet Days on this website. Meet and Greet Days are an opportunity for you to meet some of our animals. Education and Animal Rescue Society is an all volunteer, non-profit Texas corporation whose mission is to educate the public about issues concerning animal behavior and proper care for pets including an emphasis on vaccinations, spay and neutering, and nutrition. Further, EARS is committed to finding homes for unwanted animals that would otherwise perish in shelters. EARS keeps all of its animals in homes with volunteer foster families where the animals are loved and treated like a part of the family until the right permanent home is found.
