My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Although we are a husky rescue, we are working to get this gorgeous guy placed in the right home! One of our longtime fosters was trying to help someone keep their dogs by offering to watch them for a period of time while the owner worked some things out in life. Sadly, it has been months now and the original owner is no longer able to keep his dogs at all. We are working with our foster to find homes for Roscoe and the other dog who was surrendered with him. They are not bonded and have pretty different energy levels, so we think they will honestly thrive in homes that are the right fit individually.

Roscoe is a beautiful German Shepherd who we estimate to be around 3 years old. He is currently living in a home with 5 other dogs, and though he is not a fighter and gets along with everyone, he definitely gets overstimulated with all the commotion. This causes him to get a bit hyper, though we think in a home that had time to get him the right amount of exercise for his breed and age that he would do a lot better. He is actually a whole ton calmer when there are less dogs around and would likely do very well in a home with 1-2 other energetic dogs to play with him.

Roscoe is potty-trained and kennel trained. He can even have a bed in his kennel and doesn’t shred it – he’s also shown no destructive tendencies whatsoever in his foster home. Prior to landing with our foster, Roscoe lived in a home with special needs children, estimated to be around 6-8 years old, and did very well with them. We think he would have no issues in a home with children that are this age or older.

He LOVES to chase a laser pointer in the backyard to get some of his energy out currently, and we’re sure he would be a great walking, jogging or hiking companion. He does jump up to say hello when meeting new people initially (he just can’t control his excitement!), but accepts correction really well and doesn’t continue this behavior after being asked to get down.

Roscoe is a very sweet, loving boy who would be great in many homes, so long as his exercise needs can be met! He has pretty good manners for a young shepherd, but just needs some reminders from time to time. Please fill out our adoption application if you think you’d be a good fit for this sweet guy!

Additional adoption info

We ensure that our huskies only go to families on a property with a 6ft secure fence, and remain the guardian of the animal for life - if there is ever need for a family to rehome their husky again due to health or any other major concern, we are always willing to take the dog back and find them a new home.

We do not have a physical shelter location just yet, and operate solely out of foster homes. We are planning to begin participating in adoption events in the near future - these will be listed on our website once available!

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit organization located in the Phoenix valley that specializes in the adoption and placement of Siberian Huskies. We accept owner surrenders and strays, and treat dogs with specialized medical needs, or those that have just become homeless, preparing them for adoption into a permanent home! All dogs are made current on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed and neutered before being placed.
