My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Although we are a husky rescue, we are working to get this gorgeous guy placed in the right home! One of our longtime fosters was trying to help someone keep their dogs by offering to watch them for a period of time while the owner worked some things out in life. Sadly, it has been months now and the original owner is no longer able to keep his dogs at all. We are working with our foster to find homes for Bruce and the other dog who was surrendered with him. They are not bonded and have pretty different energy levels, so we think they will honestly thrive in homes that are the right fit individually.

Bruce is an adorable Rottweiler mix who we estimate to be around 5 years old. He is currently living in a home with 5 other dogs and he does great with everyone. He is such a calm, chill boy who is happy to relax and get plenty of naps. Bruce is actually a tripod boy – we don’t know his history and aren’t sure what happened where his back leg needed to be amputated, but he is definitely still loving life with 3 legs! He’s a bit of a potato in his foster home, and his fosters have said he is just such a happy, easy-going, cool dude.

Bruce is potty-trained and kennel trained, though he may not need to be kenneled much depending on his new owners’ preference. He’s had a bed in his kennel without shredding it and has shown no destructive tendencies whatsoever. Prior to landing with our foster, Bruce lived in a home with special needs children, estimated to be around 6-8 years old, and did very well with them. We think he would have no issues in a home with children.

He loves to chase his ball and gets very excited when you bring one out for him! He’ll try to jump up to get it even with only 3 legs, and though he isn’t the most graceful about it, he still has a heck of a good time playing. He’s a very friendly boy who loves everyone he meets and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. His exercise needs are pretty low, though we would recommend watching his weight with his missing limb to keep his mobility as good as possible – we estimate he is around 80lbs right now, but since he hasn’t had a weigh-in since joining us, we aren’t exactly sure how much this big boy weighs.

Bruce is such a sweetheart, and we know he’s going to make a family so happy when we find the right one for him. Please fill out our adoption application if you think you’d be a good fit for this sweet boy!

Additional adoption info

We ensure that our huskies only go to families on a property with a 6ft secure fence, and remain the guardian of the animal for life - if there is ever need for a family to rehome their husky again due to health or any other major concern, we are always willing to take the dog back and find them a new home.

We do not have a physical shelter location just yet, and operate solely out of foster homes. We are planning to begin participating in adoption events in the near future - these will be listed on our website once available!

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit organization located in the Phoenix valley that specializes in the adoption and placement of Siberian Huskies. We accept owner surrenders and strays, and treat dogs with specialized medical needs, or those that have just become homeless, preparing them for adoption into a permanent home! All dogs are made current on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed and neutered before being placed.
