My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Oreo is ready to find her furever home!

- She’s a pointer mix, about a year to a year and a half old, spayed, and UTD on all vaccines and preventatives.
- She’s a big sweetheart, the best cuddler, loves to sit on my lap while I work, and loves to play! Plus look at the way she crosses those adorable spotted paws!! Such a lady.
- Her breed is known for their high energy and being a working dog. They are also known as bird dogs, so have great focus and make a great hunting partner.
- She does best when she gets a long walk or training session in each day.
- She knows basic commands (sit, paw, leave it, stay, etc.) but is still working on recall and walking on a leash. She is house trained! She is very smart and could learn anything you put the time into!
- She needs a securely fenced in yard as she likes to run, and thinks catching her is a game.
- She would be PERFECT for someone with land, someone looking for a hunting partner, a frisbee partner, a running partner, or looking to train in agility courses!
- She enjoys coming to the barn with me, so is fairly used to being around horses and other barn animals.
- She is not good with other dogs, and would do best in a one pet home -  at least for now. When we first rescued her she was aggressive towards our dogs, and it took us about a week to get them in the same room. They get along well now, but she plays rough.
- She isn’t great with little kids either because of her rough play, but nothing intentionally aggressive.
Please share to help us find Oreo the perfect home and best life that she deserves!

All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.

We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application.

We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information.

We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.
