My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hermes is a top dog. He is intelligent, clownish, affectionate, and gentle, while also a bit stubborn. He is eager to learn and can sit, stay, almost lay down, and he is walking on leash (attached to a harness) like a champ. More than anything he wants to be with his people, and doesn't like to be left alone. But once they are gone, he settles down and is not destructive. He is learning how to be good and wait away from the door, sit while attaching and removing his leash, and waiting for his people to enter the house before he does. He has some stranger danger feelings and will give anyone new deep woofs. He is able to accept new people once they get past those first few minutes. He loves to be brushed and share quiet time while his people read books by the fire. Hermes is very snuggley and will lean in for affection.

Hermes still has young dog energy and loves walks, chasing and bringing back the ball, and he trotted next to his person for a short distance without any hesitation. Hermes would thrive in a family that does not have children under 8 years old, but who can be with him most of the day, and take him out for exercise. A large yard would be ideal. With more training, Hermes will be a good adventure buddy and would love being on the trail with you.
