Hi there! You might hear my full name, Macademia, but I prefer Mac – it helps me stay focused when I'm learning all sorts of new things. I started my journey at Chicago Animal Control, but now I'm living my best life in a foster home where my dad says I'm absolutely perfect (and who am I to disagree?).

Want to know what makes me such a great roommate? Well, I'm quite the sophisticated pup with excellent bathroom manners, and I love my crate so much that I'll happily trot in there on my own for naps. Speaking of naps, I'm flexible with my lounging spots – bed, sofa, or my own cozy space – I'm grateful for whatever you'll allow.

My wire coat is super soft (if I do say so myself), and I keep myself busy with my favorite nylabone and toys. Taking walks is one of my absolute joys – there's nothing like exploring the neighborhood with your favorite person!

I'll admit I can be a bit shy at first – you know, just making sure we're a good match. But once I know you're my safe person, get ready for all the love I've been saving up! Think of me as a slow-brewing friendship that turns into something truly special.

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
