Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Marshall! He's a 1 and a half-year-old Great Pyrenees x Bully breed mix that originally came to us as a stray. The most defining thing about him is definitely his size. He is a big guy that doesn't really understand how big he is. That being said, Marshall is a volunteer favorite. He is a gentle giant with a huge heart to fit the package. He loves to go with us to events, and does a great job by helping us work the crowds. However, he can definitely be pretty persuasive when he decides he wants your attention. Marshall is a little rough and tumble when it comes to playing with the other dogs in his play group, but he's fairly easy to handle. He would prefer a home without small animals, but would make a wonderful companion for just about any other situation.
Marshall was brought in as a stray so we don't know his history. He seems to be friendly with people and very playful as he is still young. Marshall is an old soul in a young body. Don't let his large size fool you, he is super sweet and calm. He loves walks and just wants to please everyone. If you want a good family dog, look no further.

More about this shelter
Dogwood Animal Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill shelter.
Since its infancy, compassionate, like-minded volunteers have been the driving force behind Dogwood Animal Shelter. Through auctions and sales, a handful of dedicated people raised enough money to build its first, albeit small facility and was established as a 501(c) 3 in 1976. It was filled beyond capacity almost immediately.
The shelter is funded entirely from donations and proceeds from their Dogwood Animal Shelter Thrift Store.
After years of saving, planning and busting at the seams with fur-babies, in 2005 it was time to build a new facility with their own in-house clinic! Under the direction of Dr. John Reinhold and coupled with a very dedicated and gifted team of Veterinarians and staff, Dogwood Animal Shelter continues to offer low cost spays and neuters to the public as well as services to their shelter buddies; services to approximately 2,000 dogs and cats yearly!
Dogwood Animal Shelter began their journey of being a successful no-kill shelter in 1997, and since then has saved over 40,000 lives!
