Hi, I’m Marlowe! I’m named after Raymond Chandler’s famous private investigator, and like him, I have a thoughtful and observant side. While I can be a little cautious at first and might take some time to fully trust you, I’m always curious and interested in the people around me. I love being the first to run up to my humans when they approach—it’s my way of showing how much I want to connect, even if I’m still figuring things out. I enjoy interactive play, climbing my cat tree, and perching on top to take in the view. I have a gentle purr and love soft pets and affection. I’m close with my foster sister, Nora (don’t miss her bio!), and I get along well with other cats. I’m looking for a family who will appreciate my cautious but affectionate nature and give me the time I need to truly shine.

The first step to adopting a cat or dog from Animal Friends Alliance is to fill out an adoption questionnaire. You can do this online!

The next step is to pick out a cat or dog! Check out our adoptable cats and adoptable dogs for pictures and short descriptions or come into the shelter at our Taft Hill campus. We also have adoptable cats at many offsite locations.

Note: not all available cats and dogs reside at our campuses. Some are at off-site adoption partners or in foster homes. If you are interested in a particular cat or dog, please call our shelter at (970) 484-8516 to find out about their current status and location.

We do not ship animals. You are required to come and meet your new addition prior to adoption so that we can ensure a good match.

Please note that we will make a copy of the adopters’ State ID card, Driver’s License or passport at the time of adoption.

Our spay/neuter clinic performs surgeries on both cats & dogs, and we also offer low-cost vaccination clinics every week.

Our organization's goal is to do everything in our power to prevent euthanasia due to 'homelessness'.
