My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Carnelian is in the process of getting adopted! **

Meet Carnelian! Carnelian is a domestic medium-hair mix with a glorious coat of floof that will need a little extra care to keep it soft and tangle-free—but he’s worth it! This playful boy loves to zoom around with his siblings, chasing toys and wrestling to his heart’s content. After all the fun, Carnelian is all about cuddles and is always ready for a cozy nap.

Because kittens like Carnelian have so much energy and thrive on social interaction, adopting more than one can make life easier for you and more fun for them! Maybe he could go home with one (or more) of his siblings. Come meet this floofy bundle of energy and see if Carnelian is the perfect fit for your family!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
