My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 2 years old
Weight: 4.37kg / 9.6lb

Barlow’s journey to the shelter is part of a story you may have seen in the news, but she’s leaving that chapter behind and is ready to find her forever home. Initially a little unsure about people, this vocal beauty is starting to discover that pets and scritches might actually be pretty great! In fact, she’s even begun asking for attention.

Having lived with many cats before, Barlow may make a wonderful new sibling for your resident cat(s) with proper introductions. She has a lot to say and loves to serenade the house with her charming meows. Barlow is looking for a patient and loving home to help her continue building confidence and enjoy the good life she truly deserves. If you’re ready for a chatty, feline friend who’s finding her stride, Barlow might be the perfect addition to your family!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
