My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Lucy is in the process of getting adopted! **

Age: 1 year
Weight: 30.7 kg / 67 lbs

A little bit about Lucy:
- has lived with young children; all interactions should be supervised
- no cats in home
- has lived with another dog, dogs okay pending successful introduction
- nervous dog with history of touch sensitivity

Lucy is a sweet and gentle soul who may take a little time to warm up to new surroundings and people. While she might appear shy or reserved at first, once she feels comfortable, her true affectionate nature shines through. She enjoys the quiet moments and appreciates a patient and understanding companion who will give her the time she needs to build trust. Lucy is now looking for a loving home where she can continue to blossom at her own pace, and in return, she promises to offer deep loyalty and a loving heart. If you`re ready to welcome her into your life and allow her the time to adjust, you`ll find a rewarding companion in Lucy.

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
