My name is Maple Sugar!

Maple was traumatized and virtually shut down when we rescued her. With love, patience, attention, she has come a long way. She is still stubborn and has a lot yet to learn and is currently in a training program with Velvet Snout. She is quirky (stubborn, chases her tail, afraid of rain, wind, high pitched noise ) Her elderly foster relocated from a large home with a doggie door to an apartment with very stringent leash laws. Maple needs to run and play and interact with her doggie pals but she is fearful of the gate to the dog park so is very restricted to what she can do. She is very strong, and her foster cannot physically make her do what she needs to do. She needs work on the leash and some other basic commands. She is extremely affectionate but wants to do what she wants to do and when she wants to do it. She would thrive in an active home with a yard. Because of her enthusiasm and strength, she would probably not be a good choice for a toddler.
