My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*This dog is scheduled to arrive in Grimsby, Ontario on Saturday, January 18, 2025*Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website.

Paulie is a sweet and affectionate 3.5-year-old Maltese mix whos ready to find his forever home. This 12-pound bundle of love had a rough start after being surrendered when his family moved, but he has blossomed into a warm, outgoing, and happy boy. Hes great with both men and women and does well with older kids who understand his need for gentle handlingquick or sudden movements from behind can startle him, but hes never shown aggression.

Paulie is a social pup who enjoys the company of other dogs, big and small, and has even lived harmoniously with cats in the past. He sleeps and eats peacefully with other dogs in a playpen, never tries to escape, and keeps his space clean. When its time to head outside, Paulie is the first out the door to do his business and one of the first back in. His house training is about 90%, and he has done well with crate training. On walks, he does wonderfully using a harness (with safety clips) and is eager to stay by your side. He has a medium energy level, making him a great companion for both playtime and cuddles on the couch. He has shown no signs of resource guarding or separation anxiety.

Paulie is looking for a loving home where he can feel secure and adored. If youre ready to give this affectionate little guy the fresh start he deserves, he will reward you with endless love and loyalty!

Additional adoption info

R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue is looking for committed adopters, ready to bring a rescue dog into their life. In order to ensure that we find the best homes for our dogs, adoption applicants must go through an adoption approval process. We receive a number of applications for each dog and only one will be chosen as the successful candidate. Candidates are selected based on the dog's needs. Not being selected for the dog that you applied for does not disqualify you from adopting from us in the future.

Go meet their pets

We do our very best to place our dogs into adoptive homes before they arrive into Canada. This ensures that they have a safe and loving place to go after their long journey up North. All dogs adopted through R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue will receive a 15 day adoption probation period. This period starts the day the dog enters the care of the adopter. This means that the adoptive family has 15 days to determine that dog is a good fit for them. Although it may feel scary to not meet the dog before adopting, the 15 day period allows you to get to know the dog within your home. If you buy a dog off of Kijiji or at a local shelter you may be given a couple hours to meet the dog. We believe that our program's 15 day probation provides much more insight into how he or she will fit into your home, rather than. a brief meet and greet.

More about this rescue

R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue was founded in 2020 by a small group of young women with one thing is common: a love for dogs. Since establishment, RDR has successfully found forever homed for over 700 dogs. Our mission is to rescue dogs in dire situations and give them a second chance at life through education and empowerment. All of our dogs come the streets and shelters across Texas, where they are experiencing a dog overpopulation crisis. Our team has travelled to the State to see first-hand how we can help and make a difference in the lives of animals.
R.E.B.E.L stands for: rescue, educate, believe, empower and love dogs. We live by these words every day and encourage the dog-loving community to follow suit!
