Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Xerxes (pronounced Zerk-Zees) is an adorable 7-pound, 5-month-old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund) puppy who is chock full of personality and fun. We expect he’ll be 10 to 12 pounds when fully grown.
Xerxes lives in a foster home with 6 cats and 6 dogs, and he gets along well with everyone. (See the pic of him snuggling with the cats.) He’s an affectionate boy who loves to snuggle with Foster Dogdad on the couch.
Xerxes loves to play and his favorite toys are other dogs. He can wrassle endlessly and play zoomies around the yard for as long as Foster Dogmom will leave him outside. He is almost fully house-trained, but expect to have accidents with him in a new house.
He will do well in a home or apartment with another dog (of playing age!). He would probably also be very happy with a couple of rambunctious kids to play with.
Xerxes’ adoption fee is $300 and includes neuter, all shots & microchip. He is heartworm-negative and on heartworm medication.
Note:
We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that seem to be a good fit for the dog.

During Covid, we got used to doing our adoptions online, and that's how we still operate. However, we occasionally do adoption events at Hollywood Feed in Flower Mound and at PetSmart in Roanoke.

More about this rescue
We’re a new group (as of January 2019) composed of experienced dog rescuers. We are all-volunteer and 100% foster-based—no shelters or facilities to crush the spirits of our dogs. We have applied for 501c3 status as a non-profit corporation.
We are an oddball assortment of misfits who all happen to love dogs. We pull our dogs from shelters, we find them on the streets, we take them from homes that can no longer care for them, and we find them permanent, loving homes. We are not breed specific--we love them all!
We're headquartered in Lewisville/Flower Mound, but our members are far-flung through North Dallas and into Fort Worth.
