Introducing Star! When she first came to the shelter, this pup was understandably fearful, but anti-anxiety meds have helped her tremendously and allowed her gentle disposition shine through. Star has a tendon injury in her hind leg that causes her to limp, but that hasn't diminished her zest for life, and she loves taking leisurely walks and going on car rides. She needs a home with patient folks who will make her feel secure, so that her affectionate personality can continue to blossom. If you're looking for a buddy for walks around the block or movies on the couch, Star wants to meet you!

Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.
