My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Auggie was brought in by their previous owner on December 19, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Auggie, a sweet pup looking for a loving home. Auggie is a bit on the shy side and may take some time to warm up to new people and experiences, but once he feels comfortable, his affectionate and loyal nature shines through. He's looking for a home without the hustle and bustle of young children due to fear. He can be anxious around dogs he's not familiar with, so introductions need to be slow and patient. Auggie is crate trained and finds comfort in his safe space when left home alone. We expect he will thrive in an environment where he can gradually adjust at his own pace. With some time, patience, and understanding, Auggie will become a wonderful companion to the right family who will help him feel secure and loved. Come meet Auggie today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
