My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Camilla is a truly awesome dog, she has all of the trainability and intelligence of a husky, and all of the affectionate loving nature of a pittie. She’s very well-behaved and easy-going. She’s smart, beautiful and kind- the complete package. Kid friendly, and dog friendly with all sizes!

Camilla is estimated to be around a year old, and weighs in at a snuggly 54 pounds. She has the softest, most beautiful coat, with shades of brown, gray, white and black flecked in, and a very fitting heart shaped marking on the back of her neck. We believe Camilla is a “Pitsky,” a Pit Bull, Husky mix. She is a rescue, so these are just our best guesses!

Fall in love with Camilla here: https://youtu.be/51EZD4Vob0o?feature=shared

This gorgeous girl is best described as calm and mellow, but she does have a playful side that peeks out when the time is right. She’s uber loving and affectionate, and with a few too many pets, she gets “affection zoomies.” Camilla loves to play fetch with her humans, and chase with her canine friends. She’s so tolerant and sweet with other dogs, handling our rowdiest pups with grace and ease. She’s small dog friendly and respectful with even the smallest and scruffiest of dogs.

Camilla was previously fostered in a home with dogs, cats and kids. She did wonderfully with everyone, and lived like a welcome guest in her foster home. She mingled with the other pets kindly, and slept uncrated in her dog bed. Her foster mom described her as silly and sweet. She writes that Camilla “loves meeting new people and has been great with the kids. She hasn’t been destructive. She’s very playful and is very affectionate too. She has great house manners. She was an angel when going to Tractor Supply too.”

Here at the rescue, Camilla was tested with kids of various ages, as young as four. Camilla did wonderfully with all of them! She did not react at all when the youngest of the kids accidentally hit her with his arm, she was gentle and sweet with all of the kids. We did notice that Camilla seemed to enjoy the company of older kids more, so we believe she would be happiest in a home with kids aged 8 and up.

Camilla is amazingly well behaved. She knows a handful of basic commands, including “sit,” “lay down,” and “paw.” She’s extraordinarily easy on leash, even in public. She is very food motivated, and a gentle treat taker, making further training with her enjoyable and rewarding for both of you. Camilla also has an adorable habit of sitting between our legs during playgroups here at the rescue, a sign that she sees her humans as safety, and a great sign for future trainability.

Everyone who meets Camilla instantly falls in love with her, between her gentle, calm and sweet demeanor and those chocolate brown eyes, it’s hard not to. Camilla has waited long enough already, she’s ready for her forever home. Camilla would make an amazing family dog, and could do well in a multi-dog home. Understanding Camilla’s past, we believe she is cat-tolerant and capable of living with dog-savvy kitties. We are willing to test Camilla with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
