My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together!

I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.

I can go home today!

Cece tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.

A volunteer writes: Each time we visit Cece, or come to think of it, each time we visit even one of his neighbors, he's been quick to begin airing his mile long list of grievances. Grumbling his frustrations, Cece reviews his exhaustive list to anyone in the vicinity leaving little room for much else. My heart goes out to him because of course Cece is more than his frustrations and I'd love nothing more than to learn more about this grumbly little fellow. We know a little though, because when Cece was brought to us we were told that he's an independent guy who isn't a fan of strangers. As you can imagine, that can make building friendships in the shelter a bit of a challenge, but we were also told that Cece enjoys being where people are and being part of things in his own way. There's more than one way to be a good friend and while Cece knows that, the Care Center isn't the ideal place for him to show us. In the meantime, we'll listen to him catalogue each annoyance until he meets his forever family.
