My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet little miss Baby Penny is a total love bug! Get ready for endless snuggles and kisses with this one because that’s her love language. Not only is she affectionate but her cuteness factor is out of this world. I mean, how can you resist those big brown puppy dog eyes, cute little face, and not instantly fall in love. She is a 10/10 and instantly makes people fall in love with her. One of my favorite things about Penny is that she hugs you! When you are sitting on the floor with there and she's in your lap she will hug your arm and nuzzle herself in giving you the best furry hugs.

Watch her video and see all the reasons why you should adopt her: https://youtu.be/X7CR537VY0k?si=tWeivCQ4uh37iGBv

Baby Penny is a cute tiny lab/shepherd mix approximately 5 months old and currently weighs 25 lbs and she may even still has some growing to do but we don't suspect it will be a whole lot if she does. She is a petite little baby. Penny is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. We can guarantee that Penny will love you forever, will always find a way to make you laugh, and will make any bad day 100x better.

Penny is still a young little lady and still has some things to learn when it comes to basic obedience training and will need an adopter who will continue to provide her the tools she needs to be the best doggy citizen she can be. She is treat motivated and loves to please her people which will make training a breeze. She already walks great on a leash, hardly ever pulling and she is crate and potty trained. Penny would do great in a home with a backyard where she can run around and play and we also believe she would do great in an apartment/condo with adequate exercise and socialization. Penny does still have some puppy like energy and even so, she is not a very hyper dog. Snuggles and a little romp in the yard or walk around the neighborhood and then she'll be all ready for those couch snuggles while you binge your favorite show. She can be shy meeting new people in a new environment for the very first time but it doesn't take her long to turn into the social little butterfly we all know her to be. She has so much love to give and once she's comfortable the affection will just pour out of her. Penny is the perfect balance of playful and calm. She loves to snuggle and would make a great snuggle buddy on a lazy sunday. She would also love to go with you to run errands, go on adventures, or even simply join you for a nice joy ride in the car. She is a great car rider. We also believe she would make a great dog for a family with kids. She has been around kids as young as 4 years old all the way to 13 years old and was perfect little lady around them. She was not jumping all over the kids, didn't mind when the 4 year old was crawling around her laying down in her space, and gave the most gentlest kisses. She does need a little time to warm up and feel comfortable but it doesn't take long, especially if you have treats. One of the ways to this girl's heart is with a treat. She will do anything for a treat!

Penny is very dog friendly and did great meeting all of the dogs we introduced her to both big and small. She has met dogs as small as 11 lbs to dogs twice her size weighing in around 60 lbs and easily made friends with them. She is playful with other dogs, knows when to take breaks and is very respectful when they want their space. She would do great in a home with other moderately playful dogs and she would also do great as an only dog as well. She can go either way, but we do believe she would do best with a playmate. She can get a little intimidated around bigger dogs that are vocal players but only because she is not use to it. When she was around our big male that is a vocal player, she took a step back to process what that meant and then went back to playing once she realized it was all fun and games. Penny also did really well during our cat test and was avoidant of our resident kitties. We do not know if she has ever lived with cats before and things can always change once she is in a home but with proper introductions and training, we believe that she is definitely capable of living with cats. She is at that perfect age where continued socializaiton and exposure will be key to shaping her to be best little lady she can be. We are willing to test Baby Penny with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.

Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!

Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
