My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Roy the big good boy. The doctor told me that I weigh 80 pounds!

I love meeting new dogs and people, and like hanging out with them. I haven’t been around cats or littler people much. I’m two years old, heart worm negative, about to be scheduled for a neuter. Peak Lab will pay for the cost of my neuter as long as its completed at their partner vet in Apex. I am house trained and I stay quiet in my crate until my foster mommy comes to get me.

Since it’s my first time living in a home where manners are required, I’m learning all kinds of etiquette! I have learned how to politely sit and wait patiently for my food, and also to go outside. I’m a new dog to leash training, and am working on being gentle when I am exited. My foster family says I’m learning fast.

I love chasing balls, running, and most of all food!

If you’re the right parent for me, I would love to live with you for the rest of my life!

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Application and more info may be found at: peaklabrescue.com/adopt. Please allow 24 hours for your application to be reviewed.

2.
Meet the Pet

If approved, you will be given the foster's contact info. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS. You must come to Apex, NC (near Raleigh) to meet in person.

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

If it's a match you can take your dog home that day. Our Adoption Fee is $325 and you must complete and sign our Adoption Agreement.

4.
Take the Pet Home

If you return the dog within 7 days of adoption you may receive a refund of $275. A $75 administrative fee is required to cover our costs.

Additional adoption info

You will receive the dog's Vet records via email 7-10 days after adoption. You will receive the dog's microchip info and rabies tag (if appropriate) via USPS about 2 weeks after adoption.

Peak Lab Rescue is the largest foster-based dog rescue in North Carolina. We do not have a facility, all of our dogs live in homes where they can learn the skills to be successful family members.

Our Mission is to end dog homelessness in North Carolina. We save Lab Mixes and other dogs from abuse, neglect, abandonment, and high-kill shelters.
