Meet Persephone! Persephone is an approximately four-year-old female, part Chihuahua and part butterball turkey. This roly-poly little gal is looking for her forever family through Chi Town Rescue. Persephone was originally adopted from the MCAC shelter in October. Her family surrendered her to Chi Town, after she nipped at the four-year-old child who tried to kiss her while she was eating a bone. Persephone would do best in an adult-only home, as she can be reactive with her toys or treats. Persephone is still getting used to shelter life again, so she is a bit shy at first. She warms up relatively quickly and is super sweet. When she feels safe, she will flop over for belly rubs and give kisses to her human friends. Persephone walks well on leash and is reportedly house-trained (although we always tell adopters to be willing to give their new pet time to learn the rules of the house, including where to potty). Persephone seems to do fine with the other dogs she's met so far at rescue and could potentially be a new buddy for your dog at home. Persephone's is spayed and her adoption fee includes current vaccinations and microchip. Email us at chitownrescue@gmail.com for more information/meet and greet appointment with Persephone!
