Say hello to Lacey! Lacey is an approximately three-year-old, 11-pound Chihuahua mix, available for adoption through Chi Town Rescue. Lacey came to the shelter along with ten other dogs, as part of a hoarding case. The dogs were all at different levels of their fearfulness and Lacey was one of the group that needed some extra socialization with people. A very nice couple stepped up to foster her, and Lacey has made so much progress in the home setting that we feel she is ready for forever! Lacey's ideal home with be patient while she gets used to a new environment. She is still shy with new people and has not warmed up to the male in the home as fast as the female. With her foster mom, she is sweet and cuddly. She has gotten better at meeting new people, but will seek comfort from those she knows. In true Chihuahua fashion, she will pick her person and stick by them. Lacey does enjoy the company of other dogs and enjoys playing with her doggy foster sibling. Another dog (or two!) in her new home may help her to feel comfortable faster in a new environment. Once Lacey is comfortable with you, she is affectionate and will show you her adorable "bunny hop" when she is excited.
