My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a big, lovable goofball to complete your family? Meet Blue! This 70-pound Lab mix is estimated to be anywhere from 7 months to 1 year old, and he's already got a heart as big as his paws.

Blue is a social butterfly who loves everyone he meets—men, women, kids, big dogs, small dogs, you name it! He’s especially fond of other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine sibling to romp around with. When he's not playing with his friends, you’ll find him following his people around like the loyal Velcro dog he is.

Blue is well on his way to being house-trained, though he still needs a little more love and patience to perfect it. He’s not a fan of his crate but handles it like a champ and keeps it clean - but there might be some howling for a bit, so he needs a home without shared walls. He sleeps happily in the bedroom, either in his crate or cuddled up in bed.

This playful pup loves zooming around the yard, going on long walks, and playing with toys. He’s also surprisingly gentle for his age, especially around kids. When he met his foster mom’s young friends, he calmly stood by them, soaking up their pets like the sweet boy he is.

Blue knows the “sit” command, and with a little more training, he’s sure to become an even more amazing companion. He’s the perfect mix of playful and snuggly, always ready to either chase a ball or curl up in your lap (yes, all 70 pounds of him).

If you’re looking for a gentle giant who loves everyone and everything, Blue is your guy. He’s ready to meet his forever family—could that be you?  His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
