Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rue is the total package, there is no other way to introduce her. She is obviously striking, but on top of her good looks, she is friendly, good company and an all around delight. Rue’s friendliness extends to everyone she meets—kids, dogs, cats, and adults alike. Her eyes may be what make her stand out, but her sweet and social personality is what will truly steal your heart. Take a look at her video here to see the absolute cuteness of her with her feline-friend and how balanced she is with other dogs.https://youtu.be/qiZzMX9cYdQ
At about a year old and weighing 45 lbs, Rue is just out of her puppy stage but still has that youthful energy and curiosity that make her so much fun. She’s the perfect mix of playful and mellow, with a medium energy level that makes her adaptable to many different lifestyles. Rue loves to play but also knows how to take breaks and relax, making her the perfect companion for someone looking for a well-rounded dog.
Rue has had the incredible benefit of spending her time in a foster home, where she’s shown she’s more than ready to settle into family life. Her foster family describes her as an absolute delight with excellent house manners. She’s fully house-trained, quiet in her crate, and besides the occasional “talking” she does, she is quiet and easy-going. The “talking,” along with her eyes is what leads us to believe she may have some Husky in her, of course we cannot know for sure given she is a rescue. She is the reason we say rescue is our favorite breed, the magical mix-up of breeds leads to unique dogs with a little bit of this and a little bit of that.
In her foster home, Rue lives with two smaller dogs and two cats and she has really shown her ability to make a connection and be mindful of her smaller friends. When introduced to new dogs outside of the home, Rue shined! She showed us the same great dog manners that she displayed in her foster home. Greeting new dogs on leash, passing dogs while walking on leash, and a big playgroup with a wide variety of dogs. She can romp and chase with high-energy dogs or chill with more laid-back pups. She met new dogs of all sizes and personalities and adjusts her play style accordingly, making her a wonderful candidate for a home with other dogs. When introduced to a small dog followed by our house cat, Rue showed us just how mindful she is, respecting boundaries without ever getting overly excited or persistent.
It’s easy to imagine Rue in a variety of homes from an apartment to house with a yard. Family dog, a singles +1, or a couples first “baby.” When introduced to a freshly turned 4 y/o, she impressed all of us with how gentle her approach was, she intuitively approached slower with a happy wagging tail going the whole time. The calm approach was followed by the gentlest kisses. She is a dream best-friend for kids, both playful and respectful while also being a wonderful size to snuggle up with or take for walks. Rue is versatile, she would thrive in a house with a yard but could also do well in an apartment or condo with regular exercise. A playful dog companion would be a wonderful bonus, as Rue loves to socialize and play chase, but she’d also be happy as the center of attention in a home where she can soak up love and affection.
Rue walks well on a leash, but a bit of new-dog- big-new-world can sneak in. Basically, she is great, good pace and confidence but every now and then something new or interesting will catch her eye and she wants to take it in, so she stops… right in front of you. She is eager to please and picked up quickly that nearly tripping her person is not a good thing, but still on occasion it may sneak back in. Practice and exposure to all the goodness of the world will smooth that out. Her medium energy level means she will enjoy occasional adventures like hikes, trips to the lake, or fun at the beach, but she’s equally content with a walk around the neighborhood and some playtime at home.
Rue is the total package: friendly, affectionate, great with kids, dogs, and cats, and ready to bring so much loyal love to her forever family. If you’re looking for a well-rounded, easygoing companion who will brighten your days, Rue is the girl for you!

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
