POLLO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Pollo Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and spaniel mix
Best Guess for Age: 6 months as of 1/5/25 SEX: Male
Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 12.5 lbs as of 12/29/24
Gets Along With: Pollo is good with other dogs and needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog. He's in his prime socialization period and this is a good time for him to meet cats!
We would be cautious placing Pollo in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to not leave doors open and should never walk the dog without an adult holding the leash. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.
Currently Living at: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; he needa a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here!
Special Adoption Considerations: Pollo was rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico and is shy and scared. He needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog who will help show him the ropes!
Pollo is Looking For: Hiya! I'm Pollo! Pull up a chair because I've got a story to tell you! I was saved from the streets of Puerto Rico by some nice lady, who took me to a nice shelter on the island. It was good timing, because it turns out I was quite sick. I got great medical treatment, thankfully, and now I'm feeling much better! Next I took a plane ride, and then a van ride, and now I'm at Lucky Dog's South Carolina campus waiting to hitch a ride to the DC area so I can find my forever home. I've had alot of time to think during my big adventures, and I've decided I'd love to have a forever home filled with toys, treats, and belly rubs. When I'm a little older, I'd love to go on walks to explore my new neighborhood and have lots of opportunities to run and romp with other pups. Oh, and I'd love a good lap or two to curl up on. My wish list isn't long---are you the one to make my dream a reality?
What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster
Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.
Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
