Meet Fizzy!
Fizzy’s journey hasn’t been easy—her previous owner passed away, and the stress of being in the shelter was overwhelming for her. Initially fearful, it took a few weeks in foster care for her to feel safe and start to open up, but once she did, her personality began to shine.
She exhibits many traits common in the Bengal breed.
She is very lively and affectionate. While not much of a cuddler she does like to knead on legs and give love bites to noses. She sometimes shows her joy in the most endearing way—by drooling happily while purring. She prefers to be nearby her favorite person.
She is a very curious cat who likes exploring new objects and environments. Fizzy is incredibly food motivated and energetic making her a dream to train. She’s always up for a game of fetch and loves running on her exercise wheel. She is currently being acclimated to a leash and harness so she can go for walks outside! She is a very talkative gal who meows to express a variety of emotions. She enjoys cat trees and window watching.
Fizzy needs to be the only cat in the home but she more than makes up for it with her vibrant and playful spirit.
She is seeking a home that will be able to match her energy and allow her to be the star of the show!

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Adopters can stop in during open hours to find their new pet! There may be different criteria based on the individual animal.

2.
Submit Application

Our application is more of a survey in person. We find out more about your home and lifestyle to make sure the adoption will be fur-ever.

3.
Meet the Pet

We will provide you with all the information on the pet and then set you up with a space to interact with your potential new best friend.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Super easy and can be done through your phone!

Pay Fee

We invite you to visit the shelter locations and meet the animals and the adoption team!

Our adoption process is aimed at matching you, your family and your current pets with our animals for adoption. An adoption counselor will introduce you to our animals in a private meeting room. We will share information about the animal's medical and behavioral needs as well as their history.

When you find the right pet for you and your family, the adoption counselor will assist you in completing the proper paperwork. This process includes signing an adoption contract, reviewing medical history and providing proper pet care information.

What you will need in order to adopt:

A valid photo ID with your current address.

We recommend all members of the household meeting the animal before adopting.

If you are interested in adopting a dog and have other dog(s) living in your household, it is recommended that all dogs meet each other at the shelter.

Certain animals require additional steps or requirements.

Adoption fee is accepted in cash or credit/debit card. Checks, American Express, Discover, Care Credit are not accepted as payment.

PLEASE NOTE: We are not able to place a hold or accept a deposit for animals that are not available for adoption, that you have not done a formal meet and greet with, or over the phone. Adoptions are approved for the first qualified home. Adoption is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.
