Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mia is an absolute lady and she is seeking her “partner-in-chill.” This girl stole all our hearts with her gentle presence, cuteness in a sweater, and perfect-pittie smile. We hope she reaches yours too! Get to know her straight away by watching her Get-To-Know Mia video here-> https://youtu.be/s-XqaiL_w7Q
In rescue, age and breed are details we can never know with 100% confidence, but we believe Mia is a Pittie/Lab mix, approximately 2 years old, and weighing 60 lbs. She is so fortunate to be fostered in a loving home with two other dogs and a foster host who has shared nothing but praise for her. Mia is both home and crate trained, with a true skill for couch potato life. Add in a side of watch-dog, which in this case means a dog who likes to lay on the couch and watch the neighborhood from the window, I am ready to say- she is perfect company! Because Mia is in a foster home we have a wonderful view of her as an every-day best-friend while she is learning/showing off all the best house manners. Two of my favorite Mia Moments- watching her take turns sharing food from the same dish with the little senior dog and how much she loves sticking her head through the sun-roof on car-rides. Her foster has shared that she LOVES car rides, loads up easily if you get the door, and of course- loves when the sun-roof is open.
Mia lives with other dogs and we know she is dog-friendly. When introduced to new dogs she was calm, polite for an on-leash greeting and comfortable in their company. We introduced her to 4 new dogs of different personalities and sizes, and though she never showed us a bouncy/playful side, she did gravitate to the calmer dogs. She could easily be an only dog but would also enjoy a low-to-medium energy canine companion who respect the importance of relaxation and long naps.
On-leash, Mia is a great walking companion. She keeps a steady pace and is not easily distracted by passing dogs or people. When on walks in the park, she is happy to stick to the path and take breaks to smell the grass. She isn’t the dog that is going to force you into interacting with a stranger so she can get some free-pets, she is polite if someone approaches but not the type to make the first move, pulling you to someone. With her calm, easy-going leash manners, you will be able to put your favorite playlist on and take a walk in peace- you and her good company. She does prefer walking with a harness but is trained with a collar as well.
Mia’s calm and low-energy paired with her quiet nature makes her a versatile fit for either a house with a yard or an apartment. She would do well with a calm home life, with a family who understands her calm nature and isn’t looking for a long-haul running partner or all-day playmate for a young pup. Walks, hikes, road-trips are all a yes with after-adventure naps guaranteed!
Mia is the kind of dog who reminds you to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. With her calm nature, soulful eyes, and that pittie-smile, she’ll bring calm, warmth, and joy to her new family. Whether napping on a cozy bed, strolling through the neighborhood, or lounging with her canine companions, Mia is ready to fill your home with quiet love and companionship. And, If you’ve never experienced the joy of watching a “shy” dog show you their personality and fall in love with you, Mia will show you just how special it is.
If you have any questions or want to explore how Mia might fit into your life, we’re happy to help!

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.
While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
