Kriss is a joyful, bouncy boy who’s all about fun, love, and tennis balls! This energetic pup has a silly hop that will make you laugh every time he chases after a toy. Fetch is his favorite game, and he’ll eagerly retrieve balls with big, bounding strides—sometimes even crawling under obstacles to get to his prize - tennis balls!
But Kriss isn’t all about play; he’s also a sweet snuggle bug who adores pets and cuddles.
He’s good on a leash, making it easy to take him on adventures and he does his business outside, hinting there’s a strong chance he’s house-trained.
If you’re looking for a fun-loving companion who’s equal parts goofy and affectionate, Kriss is your guy!
Eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet Kriss at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering him.
Behavior Notes:
On 1/1/25 volunteer noted: Kriss is a joyful bundle of bouncyness! He was very wiggly and excited to go outside. On leash he was a little wiggly and bouncy and wanted to say hi to other people we passed. We went to the big yard and found out he LOVES tennis balls and playing fetch! He's a silly boy with lots of bounding strides when he would chase the balls. He was a little snatchy with the tennis balls if you were holding it low enough for him to grab, but easy to throw one to get him to drop his current ball. He also wanted to lay down and chew on the balls, and I think he would probably try to shred them if left unsupervised with them. He crawled under the A-frame to retrieve one ball, and got his head all dusty! Wasn't reactive to other dogs walking by (too focused on tennis balls).
12/31/24 volunteer notes - Kriss is SO much fun. Not only does he have a good bit of energy, but he loves playing with toys! He loved playing fetch where he has the derpiest yet CUTEST little hop. I had him outside in the play yard for about 20 minutes and while there was a lot of playing, he also was very loving and gladly accepting lots of pets and snuggles. Surprisingly, he was very good on the leash too. There was minimal pulling and it was super easy to get him out and then back into his crate. He did all his business outside and other volunteers mentioned in their notes that he is likely house trained. I highly recommend Kriss to a family who either has a yard or a nearby park where he could run and play! He's an absolute keeper!
Per volunteer 12/27/24:
Kriss so cute and wiggly when I approached kennel. Loves treats and gets excited when you have them out. Kriss will Spin/ hops up for them but in a very cute way. Kriss is still taking in new surroundings- Did lots of sniffing and exploring of dog run but didn’t engage in play. Peed and pooped outside.
Per staff 12/28/24:
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Kriss was super loose in kennel. He had a wagging tail, wiggling body and soft eyes. He was easy to leash and came right out.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally
HANDLING:
In the room, Kriss was super friendly and wiggly. He allowed all the handling and wanted to push his body into us. He is a cuddle bug and allows you to do anything with him, he just wants the company. When treats were involved he got very excitable, mouthy and jumpy. He would jump up to your face, arm and hands and give little nips. He couldn't sit still for a second once he saw them and tried to sit down for ticks and treats but would get frustrated and get mouthy. He is gentle with his mouthing for the most part and was able to calm down after we directed his attention to treat.
