Cindy Lou came to the shelter as a stray and is now looking for a loving home where she can feel safe and secure. She’s a sweet and gentle girl who craves affection and comfort. Once comfortable, she quickly melts into her friend’s laps for cuddles and stays close for reassurance. Cindy Lou takes treats gently and allows handling once she feels at ease.
She’s curious about toys but still a bit hesitant to fully engage. With a calm and patient adopter, Cindy Lou will blossom into the affectionate companion she’s meant to be.
Eligible for rescue and adoption. Visit Cindy Lou at ACCT Philly daily, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

Cindy Lou was very excited to come out of her ISO kennel. She is a beautiful girl, easy to leash and likes to greet you with a jump-up-hug. It was dark and cold, so we didn’t stay outside too long – just long enough for her relieve herself, since she seems to be trying to stay housetrained.
She does a nice sit, takes treats gently, enjoys getting pets, and will lean-in to get more pets, and even rolled over for belly rubs. We created space in the ISO area and she picked a nice stuffed toy to shake, show us, and even play tug.
She is a sweet girl and would be a wonderful addition to have as your family companion.
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Cindy Lou was standing by the door with oft eyes nad alow tail. When they ander showed her the leash and retreated to the bed with hard eyes ad began alert barking. They nadler tried to lasso her and she began growling and leash dodging. She bared teeth at leash but once secured came out with a tight and tucked body.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally- nervous
HANDLING:
In the room, Cindy Lou was very submissive and nervous. She immediately dropped her body backwards into the handler's lap for cuddles and was super gentle. She took treats very gently but was very shy, struggling to open up fully. She just wanted comfort and stayed by the handler for all the cuddles she could get. She allowed all handling but was less fond when another handler tried to greet her and handle her.
PLAY:
Very nervous
TOYS:
Interest but no possession a little nervous
12/23/24 staff noted: she is such a sweet little cuddle bug. very scared when I approached her and was hard barking and backing away from me, eventually she backed up into a doorway, where I approached slowly and showed her the leash. she was dodging the leash but never snapped and eventually allowed me to leash her and remove her from the yard. When we got back to the shelter she had warmed up to me and was such a sweetheart, just wanting to be in my lap and get belly rubs. She was hesitant but very sweet with other staff members. In her kennel she continued the same giving kisses and wanting cuddles. She needs a very gentle approach but will warm up immediately if you open her kennel door.
