My name is Cagney!

Handsome, adventurous and full of heart, Cagney is a dog on a mission to find his forever home. While he may take his time to warm up to new people and animals, his sweet disposition shines through once he builds trust. Cagney’s ideal environment is one where he can take slow introductions and grow comfortable at his own pace.

He is approximately 75lbs but we are working to put healthy weight on him.

Cagney is housebroken and we’re currently working on crate training, where he’s showing progress- this smart pup learns quickly! He’s also been making great strides in mastering basic commands like “sit”, “leave it,” and is learning to be gentle when taking treats (especially his beloved cheese, which is his high value reward). Cagney’s eagerness to learn and bond makes him a great companion. He is also learning how to walk on a leash. While being with us he has made great strides with wearing a collar and walking on a leash. Cagney has done well with my older children who are experienced with dogs and understand canine behavior. He thrives in environments where children respect his boundaries and recognize the importance of interacting with dogs in a calm and mindful way. Cagney would do best in a home with older kids who can give him the space and respect he needs to feel comfortable.

He’s a great candidate to be an only dog, where he can focus all his attention to you. With a little patience and consistency, Cagney will be a loyal and loving member of the family.
