MAMET NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Come meet Mamet and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (01/05/25) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria, VA (3351 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22305)!

Name:   Mamet     Best Guess for Breed: Lab and terrier mix

Best Guess for Age:  2 years as of December 2024      SEX:   Female

Approximate Weight:   33 lbs

Gets Along With:  Mamet does well with other dogs. We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested if you have them.

Currently Living at:  Coming soon to Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here!

Special adoption considerations:    Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Mamet would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.

Mamet is Looking For:  Her forever home! She was thrilled to be rescued from the streets in Puerto Rico and can't wait to get her own humans. Long sniffy walks, romps in parks, all the adventures - yes, please! Quality kibble, a cushy dog bed, and dog toys sound great too but you know what she wants most of all? To know she's safe and loved and under her own roof. In exchange, she has so much to offer - adoring gazes, tail wags, all the affection she's stockpiling in the shelter, and loyal companionship for all her days.

Look at that gentle face. What do you say? Is she the one you want to see every day for many, many days to come?

What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update once this pup has arrived in the DC area and spent some time in foster care!

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
