Meet Cider: The Playful Attention-Seeker

Cider is a wonderful dog who was surrendered due to his owner’s move and divorce. He has had no previous issues with dogs, but when the toy poodle in his home growled at him, he growled back. So, it’s unclear if he would do well with small dogs, but he does get along well with bigger dogs. Cats are an unknown as he has never met one.

Cider is great with kids aged 7, 10, and 15. He is housebroken but needs some training on leash manners as he tends to beg and pull. He also barks when the owner leaves but calms down shortly after. Cider is quite the talker in general, so he wouldn’t be suited for apartment living. He is not food aggressive and doesn’t really know how to play with toys yet, but he might learn with some encouragement. He does love ice cubes and bacon!

Overall, Cider is playful, curious, and LOVES all the attention he can get. If you’re looking for a fun and affectionate companion, Cider might be the perfect addition to your family.

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity.
