Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Heath is a wonderful little dog seeking the companionship of a wonderful adopter! Not only is he adorable, but he is super sweet and playful. Heath is both quiet, and clean, and a perfect little sweetheart that would be happy beside his special person enjoying a quiet life. Heath came to us from a shelter in central NC with another dog that he had been found with. He is very kind to all humans and other small dogs Fully grown at just over 15 pounds, he is a perfect size for most homes! Heath is in good health, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. We are seeking a home with an adopter able to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with him. A home without larger pets or small children, and with a fenced, secure yard will be a must. One meeting with this special boy will surely steal your heart!
Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of Heath and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet Heath at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting him and determining that he matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. More information on our website at www.carerva.com.
