Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Meet Penny! She was adopted from a shelter in Colorado and brought to Arizona for my grandma, but her energy level was too much, so we decided to keep her. We’ve had her for four months now.
She is sweet and playful, but her age is unclear. The shelter estimated her to be around 2 years old because of missing canine teeth, but no new teeth have grown, so she could be a puppy or just untrained. She’s very active, loves car rides, and chews on outdoor things like sticks and toys (but not anything important). She’s mastered the commands “drop it” and “leave it.”
We’re unsure of her breed, but think she may be part heeler or collie because she likes to herd the kids in the yard. She’s crate trained at night, but sometimes sleeps with my daughter.
Penny would do best in a home with time, energy, and resources for training, as she’s a fast learner. She needs a lot of activity and would benefit from a yard. She gets along with dogs and cats and would probably enjoy having a dog companion.
