Meet Dorothy! She is a 8 yr old female American Staffordshire/Olde English Bulldogge mix that weighs 87lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 12/26 as a stray. Tho she does appear to be somewhat well cared for, with the exception of being extremely overweight. With her small frame this takes a major toll on her joints and overall health. Sweet Dorothy would feel much better if she could lose close to half of her current weight. She walks very slowly and takes breaks often. She is a total lovebug! She will roll into you for petting, kisses and hugs and she gives the biggest smiles! She loves being around people. As she saw other dogs barking, she ignored most but did bark at one. It was clear as she was walking, her focus was on her movements. Dorothy would love to have one of our kind and loving rescues to see how much potential she has and help her out of the shelter and on her way to her own loving family.
