Marcus was born around March, 2024. He is currently residing at the Austin Vet Clinic. 507 433 5225. Please call there for an appointment to meet Marcus (or Bo!).

I am Marcus, a neutered male of about 8 months old. I was found crying for attention in a back yard, but scared to be touched. It was several weeks before I was brave enough to let a person pet me. I am white with black spots and am fairly reserved. I tend to take my time warming up to a new situation, but love to be pet and cuddle when I do get comfortable. I have had all my vaccines, am negative for feline leuk/FIV, and I am neutered.

We are looking for an indoor only home for Marcus. Adoption fee is $80 and you must be 21 to adopt. Contact the Austin Vet (507 433 5225) if you are interested in meeting Marcus.

For dogs, there is an application form that needs to be completed a few days ahead of time, before we are able to release an animal. We review applications to make sure there is a compatible fit between adoptive home and the characteristics of the animal. Adoption fees for dogs range from $95 to $150

Regular animal viewing hours are at the Shelter on Tuesdays from 4:30PM to 6PM, and Sundays from 2PM to 4PM. Other days/times can be arranaged by appointment.

The Mower County Humane Society is run entirely volunteers. The group strives to take in homeless and stray dogs and cats and place them into responsible, lifelong homes.
NOTE: The Shelter address does not register correctly on Google maps. Our Shelter is east of the Charter cable office in Austin MN. This is off of Hwy 218 south - our shelter is east of the highway just off the eastern tip of Oakland Avenue. The official address is 101 22nd Street SE
