Hi, I'm Pixie! I'm young and full of life, ready to explore every nook and cranny of the world. I'm friendly and love meeting new friends, especially other cats. I enjoy a good play session, chasing after toy mice and batting at dangling feathers. But don't let my energy fool you, I'm also a cuddle bug. I love curling up in warm laps and purring to my heart's content. Life at the shelter is okay, but I dream of a forever home where I can spread my love. The Humane Society of Scott County (HSSC) has been an advocate for the humane care of all animals in Scott County, Iowa, since 1902.

An average of 500 pets arrive at the HSSC each month. About 80% come to us as strays and the rest are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep or care for their pets.

The HSSC is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization funded entirely by donations, adoption fees and a fee charged to the city and county for the care of the animals.
