My name is Odessa (Dessa)!

Dessa is a sweet, sleepy (14 yr) girl who purrs like a deisel engine the moment you start to give her scritches. She spends 90% of her time asleep on the back of our couch or in her tree (or in the sock drawer if left open), and the other 10% chasing a laser light or walking patrol of the house. We've had her since she was about a year old, and she has only gotten sweeter and more relaxed as she has matured. She overlapped with a german shepherd for about two years when we first got her and they got along well (mostly keeping out of each others way), and she is great with being picked up and handled (although she prefers to be pet on her own terms, like any cat). Dessa has lived with our other cat, Lilu for the last decade and would likely do best being kept together with her.

I am rehoming Dessa and Lilu on behalf of my mother, who is moving into hospice care. I love both cats dearly but I have a high prey-drive dog at home, so I just want to find them a loving home.
