My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Julian (born 6/20/2024) is a sweet, friendly gray and white kitten. He enjoys playing with his toys and the other kittens and cats. Julian can be shy at first, but once he gets to know you is very affectionate and outgoing.

We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We also have a great adoption matchmaking team who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. We start the process once you have submitted an application to us.

FOR AN APPLICATION, please visit http://humanesocietyny.org/adoptions/ and download then email your application to hsny.adopt@gmail.com.

Our one and only location is:
306 East 59th Street (between 1st & 2nd Avenue) in Manhattan.

If you'd like to sponsor Julian, please email amk.hsny@verizon.net. You can give as much or as little as you like. Your donation is tax deductible. Thank you!

Donation
Won't you please sponsor this pet? Click the button above. You can give as much or as little as you like. Your donation is tax deductible. Thank you and our furry ones thank you. Each and every animal here is very special to us. We are dedicated to finding each one just the right home. So for some cats and dogs, that means a much longer stay - as sometimes they are not as outgoing, pretty or have as perfect manners as they could. And because we don't "dispose" of them for this, our cost for keeping them healthy and becoming better companions is high.

Additional adoption info

The Humane Society of New York does not do "same-day" adoptions. We begin the process by having you visit our adoption page to fill out and submit an Adoption Application. We will contact you if we have the right cat or dog to match your lifestyle, preferences and personality.
