My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Smudge’s origin story is the stuff of legends. She was found strutting her stuff on the walking trails, where she boldly ran up to her future mom and her dog, clearly declaring, “I choose YOU.” That’s right—Smudge doesn’t wait for life to happen; she makes it happen. She has a storied past with a former roommate cat who accepted her reign without question, and her BFF was always the big dog she both admired and respected (translation: she tolerated him with regal dignity).

Smudge is the ultimate low-key queen who knows how to appreciate life’s finer (and simpler) things. Her hobbies include staring wistfully at the garden from the screened porch, napping dramatically on windowsills while soaking up the sun, and graciously ruling over her domain. Smudge isn’t needy—she’s independent and likes her quality time on her terms. She’ll let you know when it’s time for cuddles by graciously flopping next to you, where you’ll be permitted to gently pat her head and boop her nose. Smudge is surprisingly obedient for a cat (who knew?). She actually listens to phrases like “leave it” and “get down.” She’s also an avid foodie—she’ll eat her share and clean up after any slacker cats who dare leave scraps behind. Curious, smart, and delightfully sassy, Smudge is the perfect blend of diva and companion.

She’s 2-6 years old, weighs 12 pounds of pure personality, and is waiting to meet you at Citrus County Animal Services, 4030 S. Airport Road, Inverness, FL. 34450. ID# 57499159. Hurry—Smudge’s court is ready to welcome you!
