MISTLETOE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Approximate Weight:    29 lbs as of December 2024 

Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven’t seen Mistletoe with kids or cats but she can be tested!

Currently Living At: Shelter - Mistletoe needs a foster or forever home

Special Adoption Considerations: Mistletoe is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.

Mistletoe is Looking For: A comfortable and warm doggy bed in her forever home! She wants a family to take her on long walks, nd give her opportunities to play, run, and explore. And take her for training so she can  show how smart she is. Lots of love, chances to play, and fun doggy toys sound like the best gift she can receive!

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
