HEADLINER: Moose needs a Valentine to help him celebrate his birthday.
HISTORY: Moose was born on Valentine’s Day in 2023. Moose came to MTM from a home in Kentucky.
PERSONALITY: Moose is loving, playful and loyal. Moose may look full grown but he is very playful. Moose loves crinkle toys and tug of war ropes. Moose does get the zoomies usually at night before bedtime. He loves to play but just as much as he loves to play Moose loves to rest, snuggle and be pet. His favorite spots to be pet are on his head and behind his ears. Moose is also very loyal. He will let it be known when something is amiss.
FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Playing with crinkle toys, tug of war ropes, being pet and snuggling, going for walks.
MEDICAL ISSUES: Moose came to MTM rather thin and needing to put on some weight (117.4 at intake) he has been gaining weight. Moose also has some calluses which he has oil being put on them to soften up the spots.
WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME: The best home for Moose would be one where the adopter understands the needs of a Great Dane or large breed dog. One who is patient and willing to help train Moose to be the best dog he can be. Moose is leash trained (must be walked using a harness as he will very easily slip his collar), housebroken and crate trained but is still working on manners. He does jump when he gets excited and when he gets bored will chew on whatever he can find. Moose has been doing well with redirection when receiving correction. Moose loves to be near his person or people and will follow around. Moose prefers to be wherever the people are. He is an absolute love and would love a home where he can have lots of attention.
